The Antitank SP17pdr M10 (Achilles)also known as Achilles was a tank destroyer used by the british between 1944 and 1945. The vehicle was manned by a crew of 5 and was 3.08 metres wide, 6.03 metres long, 2.49 metres high and weighed 29.45 tonnes. Powered by a 375hp petrol engine the Antitank SP17pdr M10 (Achilles) was capable of a road speed of 30mph and a cross country speed of 20mph. The 165.1982 gallon fuel capacity gave the Antitank SP17pdr M10 (Achilles) a road range of 322 miles Based on the tank destroyer chassis, the vehicle was armed with a Ordnance Q.F. 17pdr with a muzzle velocity of 950m/sec which was capable of penetrating 124mm of armour at 800metres
