The Howitzer Motor Carriage M7 (Priest) was a self propelled artillery vehicle , 2854 of which were used by the americans between 1942 and 1945. The vehicle was manned by a crew of 7 and was 2.92 metres wide, 6.08 metres long, 2.97 metres high and weighed 23 tonnes. Powered by a 375hp petrol engine the Howitzer Motor Carriage M7 (Priest) was capable of a road speed of 25mph and a cross country speed of 15mph. The 175 gallon fuel capacity gave the Howitzer Motor Carriage M7 (Priest) a road range of 125 miles Based on the sp gun chassis, the vehicle was armed with 1 light machine gun, a 105mm Howitzer M3A1 L/18 with a muzzle velocity of 310m/sec which was capable of penetrating 43mm of armour at 800metres
