The Befehlspanzer (Tiger)also known as Tiger was an command vehicle used by the germans between 1942 and 1945.
The vehicle was manned by a crew of 5 and was 3.83 metres wide, 6.37 metres long, 2.92 metres high and weighed 55 tonnes.
Powered by a 700hp petrol engine the Befehlspanzer (Tiger) was capable of a road speed of 23mph and a cross country speed of 12mph. The Befehlspanzer (Tiger) had a road range of 87 miles
Based on the tiger chassis, the vehicle was armed with 2 light machine guns, a 8.8cm Kwk 36 L/56 with a muzzle velocity of 810m/sec which was capable of penetrating 99mm of armour at 800metres |
