The Medium M4A1 (Sherman II)also known as Sherman II was a medium tank , 6281 of which were used by the canadians between 1942 and 1945. The vehicle was manned by a crew of 5 and was 2.63 metres wide, 5.88 metres long, 2.77 metres high and weighed 30.23 tonnes. Powered by a 400hp petrol engine the Medium M4A1 (Sherman II) was capable of a road speed of 24mph and a cross country speed of 17mph. The 175 gallon fuel capacity gave the Medium M4A1 (Sherman II) a road range of 120 miles Based on the sherman chassis, the vehicle was armed with 3 light machine guns, a 75mm Gun M3 L/40 with a muzzle velocity of 619m/sec which was capable of penetrating 69mm of armour at 800metres
