The Cruiser Mk VI (Crusader II C.S.)also known as Crusader was a cruiser tank used by the british between 1942 and 1945.
The vehicle was manned by a crew of 5 and was 2.66 metres wide, 6.05 metres long, 2.26 metres high and weighed 19.32 tonnes.
Powered by a 340hp petrol engine the Cruiser Mk VI (Crusader II C.S.) was capable of a road speed of 28mph and a cross country speed of 15mph. The 120 gallon fuel capacity gave the Cruiser Mk VI (Crusader II C.S.) a road range of 124 miles and a cross country range of 91 miles.
Based on the crusader chassis, the vehicle was armed with 2 light machine guns, a Ordnance Q.F. 3inch Howitzer with a muzzle velocity of 650m/sec which was capable of penetrating 85mm of armour at 800metres |
