The Ram Mk I was a medium tank , 50 of which were used by the canadians between 1941 and 1942.
The vehicle was manned by a crew of 5 and was 2.9 metres wide, 5.85 metres long, 2.69 metres high and weighed 29.09 tonnes.
Powered by a 400hp petrol engine the Ram Mk I was capable of a road speed of 25mph and a cross country speed of 20mph. The 175 gallon fuel capacity gave the Ram Mk I a road range of 144 miles
Based on the ram chassis, the vehicle was armed with 3 light machine guns, a Ordnance Q.F. 2pdr with a muzzle velocity of 792m/sec which was capable of penetrating 47mm of armour at 800metres |
