The Inf Tank Mk IV (Churchill VIII)also known as Churchill was a infantry tank , 1600 of which were used by the british between 1941 and 1945. The vehicle was manned by a crew of 5 and was 3.28 metres wide, 7.51 metres long, 2.49 metres high and weighed 40 tonnes. Powered by a 350hp petrol engine the Inf Tank Mk IV (Churchill VIII) was capable of a road speed of 15mph and a cross country speed of 8mph. The 190 gallon fuel capacity gave the Inf Tank Mk IV (Churchill VIII) a road range of 90 miles and a cross country range of 52 miles. Based on the churchill chassis, the vehicle was armed with 2 light machine guns, a Ordnance Q.F. 95mm Howitzer with a muzzle velocity of 503m/sec which was capable of penetrating 84mm of armour at 800metres
