The KV-1 early was a heavy tank used by the russians between 1939 and 1945.
The vehicle was manned by a crew of 5 and was 3.28 metres wide, 6.95 metres long, 2.69 metres high and weighed 46.35 tonnes.
Powered by a 550hp petrol engine the KV-1 early was capable of a road speed of 22mph and a cross country speed of 7mph. The 131 gallon fuel capacity gave the KV-1 early a road range of 140 miles and a cross country range of 94 miles.
Based on the kv chassis, the vehicle was armed with 3 light machine guns, a 76.2mm Gun M38 L/30.3 with a muzzle velocity of 640m/sec which was capable of penetrating 70mm of armour at 800metres |
