The Cruiser Mk I (A9) C.S. was a cruiser tank , 10 of which were used by the british between 1938 and 1945. The vehicle was manned by a crew of 6 and was 2.56 metres wide, 5.92 metres long, 2.56 metres high and weighed 12 tonnes. Powered by a 150hp petrol engine the Cruiser Mk I (A9) C.S. was capable of a road speed of 25mph and a cross country speed of 15mph. The 86 gallon fuel capacity gave the Cruiser Mk I (A9) C.S. a road range of 150 miles Based on the cruiser tank chassis, the vehicle was armed with 3 light machine guns, a Ordnance Q.F. 3.7inch CS Mortar with a muzzle velocity of 189m/sec which was capable of penetrating 32mm of armour at 800metres
