The Char Renault D1A was a infantry tank , 100 of which were used by the french between 1931 and 1945. The vehicle was manned by a crew of 3 and was 2.18 metres wide, 5.83 metres long, 2.41 metres high and weighed 12.92 tonnes. Powered by a 65hp petrol engine the Char Renault D1A was capable of a road speed of 13mph and a cross country speed of 6mph. The Char Renault D1A had a road range of 56 miles Based on the infantry tank chassis, the vehicle was armed with 1 light machine gun, a 37 mm SA M1918 L/21 with a muzzle velocity of 388m/sec which was capable of penetrating 13mm of armour at 800metres
